COP22 Events in Marrakech: CCFLA – Innovation labs for subnational climate finance

15 Nov,

The Cities Climate Finance Leadership Alliance (CCFLA) was launched at the United Nations Secretary-General’s Climate Summit in September 2014.

The CCFLA is a coalition of more than forty organizations actively working to catalyze and accelerate investment into low-carbon and climate-resilient infrastructure in cities and urban areas. We are happy to inform you that the CCFLA will organize two events during the COP22 in Marrakech (Morocco).

Intensifying climate action in cities

The coalition will be hosting a side event entitled “Innovation labs for unlocking sub-national climate finance” on 15 November in the Green Zone from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. which primarily aims to bring together climate finance laboratories, investors, practitioners, and local authorities, to showcase and discuss existing initiatives and practical examples of approaches intended to accelerate climate action at the urban level.

Climate-KIC’s Low Carbon City Lab (LoCaL) organises this event on behalf of the CCFLA.
Financing gaps and opportunities
Aside from the CCFLA Innovation Labs session, a side event on Localizing Climate Finance : mapping gaps and opportunities designing solutions –A CCFLA contribution” will also take place in the Blue Zone. The session will focus on: the presentation of the Working Groups main achievements, showcase members’ initiatives, and launch the CCFLA Scoping report – Mapping Financing Gaps and Opportunities for Cities and Regions.
