LoCaL to present at Climate Chance Summit

28 Jun - 28 Jun 2018, Abidjan, Ivory Coast

EIT Climate-KIC’s Low Carbon City Lab (LoCaL) will be present at Climate Chance 2018 in Abidjan, which brings together non-state climate actors in Africa primarily to set up sectoral and operational roadmaps adapted to the context in African territories.

LoCaL Programme Manager Victor Gancel will participate in WORKSHOP 1 : FACILITATING ACCESS BY NON-STATE AFRICAN ACTORS TO CLIMATE FUNDING, which focuses on taking stock of the climate funding possibilities for African local authorities, but also for non-state African actors.

Victor will present LoCaL’s on-going work on its sustainable infrastructure finance training programme. Supported by the MAVA foundation, the programme targets sustainable urban infrastructure projects that are in more advanced stages of project development and need support in financial structuring to secure necessary investment. The expected outcomes of this programme are to increase the development stage of 3-5 concrete regional and municipal infrastructure projects in Northern and Western Africa through the delivery of training to the teams behind them.
